Introduction

Shurasena is a Yadava king, the father of Vasudeva, Krishna's father, and of Kunti (Pritha) and Shrutashrava. He is the grandfather of Krishna and of Shishupala. The tree records that some generations between Vrishni and Shurasena are compressed.

Family

Kunti's adoption

Shurasena promised his first child to his childless cousin Kuntibhoja. He kept the promise when Pritha was born, and she became known as Kunti.
