Introduction

A friend to Sita

Sarama befriended Sita in the Ashoka grove. She brought her news and reassured her that Ravana's forces were failing, and that Rama would come. In the Uttara Kanda's account of Ravana's family she is the daughter of Shailusha, a Gandharva king.
