Introduction

Mayasura, also called Maya, is a Danava architect and magician of great skill. He is the father of Mandodari, the wife of Ravana.

In the Uttara Kanda, Maya married the apsara Hema. Their children included Mandodari, and two sons, Mayavi and Dundubhi, who appear in the story of Vali.

In the Mahabharata

In the Mahabharata, Maya builds the great assembly hall at Indraprastha for the Pandavas.
