Introduction
Vidyunmali, "garlanded with lightning", is one of three Asura brothers, with Tarakaksha and Kamalaksha, who ruled the three cities of Tripura, destroyed together by Shiva.

Vidyunmali shares the story of his brothers: the three flying cities granted for their austerities, and their destruction together when Shiva's single arrow struck them at the moment of their rare alignment.
