Introduction
Samba is the son of Krishna and Jambavati. He is known in the Mausala Parva for his part in the destruction of the Yadavas.
Family
The curse
The Yadava youths dressed Samba as a pregnant woman and asked sages what child she would bear. The sages, angry at the trick, said she would give birth to an iron pestle that would destroy the clan. The pestle was ground to powder and thrown into the sea. It grew into eraka grass, which the Yadavas later used as clubs against each other at Prabhasa.
